It survived the Great Fire of 1666 and the bombs dropped in Zeppelin raids in World War I and during the Blitz in World War II.

12/04/2022 Rp @londonundergroundknowledge IG Right up to the opening of #ClaphamSouth in 1926, the name of the station was going to be Nightingale Lane. Maps were printed, the entrance had been mocked up, and according to TFL the name still exists behind the blue bars
